The Kobeashi logo exists within the Sumo Japanese Steakhouse brand. It aims to balance three elements: the animal, the art of japanese calligraphy, and the warrior.

THE ANIMAL The horns are representative of the Wagyu beef. The sharpness and wide stance relates to the proportion of the cow, and the circular shape relates to the Sumo brandmark. Kobeashi is a keystone of what Sumo offers to its patrons.

THE ART OF CALLIGRAPHY Japanese Kanji letterforms are composed of varying weighted lines. Like strong Kanji characters, the mark is grounded and supportive of the lean upper portion. The hybrid character is unified literally by the letter K.

THE WARRIOR The negative space resembles the mask of a warrior — the hibachi chef. Mindful of symmetry and perfection, the mark moves energy inward to the core, like nutrition to the body, building strength and discipline.
